Our Wedding

Oliver and Kristen are a true media match made in heaven. Kristen, thriving in Corporate Communications at The Walt Disney Company, and Oliver, leading an Ad Sales team at Overtime, were both building their dream careers in New York City. What they didn’t have, however, was much luck in love, because as anyone who has lived in the city knows… dating in New York can feel like an impossible game. Enter Wendell Scott, a trusted mentor to both. During a casual check-in, Wendell asked Kristen how life outside of work was going. She admitted she was happily focused on her friendships and career because, well, dating in the city wasn’t all that magical. Not long after, Wendell found himself in conversation with Oliver, who confessed the very same thing. That’s when a lightbulb went off and he knew he had to introduce them. Oliver, ever the determined gentleman, looked Kristen up on LinkedIn and instantly knew she was someone special. But winning an introduction wasn’t easy. After three months of patient follow-ups, Wendell finally agreed to connect them, but with two rules: Call, don’t text. She’s a lady. And make sure you’re serious. Oliver followed both instructions to the letter. His first call led to their very first date, a Tuesday evening at a cozy Italian restaurant in Williamsburg. From the moment they sat across from one another, it felt effortless, like they had known each other forever. Conversation flowed, laughter was easy, and what began as a simple dinner turned into the beginning of their forever. Since that night, Oliver and Kristen have been building a God-centered love rooted in growth, joy, and deep commitment. What started with a phone call has become their greatest adventure - a true New York love story written with a little help from fate, persistence, and the perfect mentor matchmaker.

Getting Here is Half the Fun

Getting to the island is a timeless adventure, and it’s a Vineyard tradition shared by generations of visitors. No matter how you get here, we know that the journey will put you in the right frame of mind: leaving the mainland where it belongs, on the mainland!

With a CarTraveling to the island via The Steamship Authority is the only way to bring a car to the island. We recommend making reservations in advance in order to guarantee a space on one of their car ferries. Steamship Authority ferries depart from Woods Hole, MA to terminals in Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven.
